A lovely view for EARTH DAY. “In
today’s highly interdependent world, individuals and nations can no
longer resolve many of their problems by themselves. We need one
another. We must therefore develop a sense of universal responsibility
… It is our collective and individual responsibility to protect and
nurture the global family, to support its weaker members, and to
preserve and tend to the environment in which we all live.” So I was doing my flowing parallel processing practice (F3P) this morning – pumping iron while listening to podcasts with purpose. The podcast I was listening to was Al Gore's speech at Stanford Business school (via Social Innovation Conversation podcast).
Whatever you think of Al Gore, there's no denying his intelligence, his
compassion, and his passion. He's today's leading and loudest voice on
the issue of Climate Change. I can't help but admire him for putting his heart on the most relevant and important global issue to date. But then again I also admire Michael Crichton and his intelligent critique on Climate Change (see The Impossibility of Prediction).
So here are two highly intelligent, elite, and integral-minded people
(both Al and Michael have read and “buddies” with Ken Wilber); both of
them have access to the latest studies and scientific research on
Climate Change; both of them are charismatic and passionate; yet they
have an opposing view when it comes to the Climate Change issue. This
makes me wonder how we (average informed people) pick sides on this
important and critical issue. Do we take Al Gore's (and the PRO) side?
Do we take Michael Crichton's (and the CON) side? Do we take BOTH
sides? If we do take BOTH sides, how do we INTEGRATE them? These are
the questions that I think we need to honestly ask ourselves before we
decide and take sides on this issue. And this is the premise by which I
started ZPod:CLIMATE CHANGE. So I invite everyone to JOIN IN so we can all make ourselves more informed on CLIMATE CHANGE whichever side we choose to lean on to. Note: Before joining in, make sure you understand the real purpose of this pod – see ZPod:Climate Change 101 – before discussing your heart out.Earth, Atlantic Ocean view, and moon
